Hartford Elevated!

The desire of the Hartford Project regarding the Elevate Hartford event was to increase the presence of God in the city of Hartford, to represent the presence of God through the unity of the churches, and to bring forth the ministry of God's presence through prayer and healing.  I believe all of these goals were accomplished. God's presence was growing in the atmosphere of South Church during the setup time on Sunday afternoon. The anticipation of what that presence could do and the potential to continue the momentum of what God is doing in Hartford brought chills to our bodies. During the prayer time with the band, tech crew, and prayer ministry leaders, it was clear that anticipation had shifted to expectation.

As multiple churches and representatives from churches showed up and filled the sanctuary, the expectation grew. After the opening prayer and word of encouragement, the expectations became reality. The worship leader (James Allen) asked the students if they were ready to worship, and in unison they rose to their feet like a mighty army ready for battle. He said he could feel the presence of God wash over him with power as the students and adults rose to worship the King.

As the band was united in song, the tech crew was united in support, and the churches were united in singing, everyone was bound together in worship and adoration of their King. At the close of the evening, we gave a call to respond to the King and receive prayer of confirmation and encouragement. Wellspring provided 18 prayer ministers and all of them were used. All those who came for prayer left encouraged and released to greater healing and greater abilities to carry God's presence back to their schools, and to increase the momentum of God's presence in the city.

Elevate Hartford pictures what the Hartford Project wants to do with the city. We want the city to be engulfed with the presence of God, for it is the presence of God that makes the difference. The Hartford Project will be ministering for two weeks this year and there is no reason not to believe that someday we'll minister every week in Hartford. Momentum is growing. The river of revival will continue to get deeper and wider and faster because it flows from the throne of God. God's presence will increase the peace, wisdom, creativity, and love that the city of Hartford so desperately needs. When there is light, the darkness must leave. The Kingdom of God is not restricted to heaven, but continues to move out and take back territory that the enemy has stolen.

Thank you for your prayers regarding this event. We thank you for your prayers regarding the momentum that this event stepped into, that it will continue and revival will flow.  For students who want to continue to pour into the river of revival:  we encourage you to participate in the Hartford Project this summer.  Applications are available at Youth Group tonight!
