Jesus with skin on
“If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever, the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you."
~ John 14:15-17
As the end of the 2010 quickly approaches I take this opportunity, to reflect where Crosscut has been over the last few years and where God has sent us. It started 6 years ago with a simple vision from God to help people in need. It took 3 years for that vision to be birthed with many changes from my plan to Gods plan on the way. Since then God has moved in ways I never imagined. He has led the needy to us, He has led the servants to us and He has given visions to us of where He wants us to be. As John 14:16 says “....he will give you another advocate to help you....”, and boy has He held true to His word. He is an amazing God!
Since Crosscut began we have had the privilege to watch people’s lives be impacted both physically and spiritually by working on their homes and bringing a little hope to their lives. I love watching God bring a tear to a man’s eyes and love to his heart by doing a simple task of painting his walls or watching a young woman glow with the love of Christ because you preformed the simple task of helping her move or hearing that a father-in-laws heart has been softened by fixing the roof over his head. There are many more stories similar to these. This is what God has intended with Crosscut Ministry.....bringing the hope of Christ into someones life by the simple act of helping them out with the physical things in their life...”Jesus with skin on”.
God has brought many team members to Crosscut with a wide range of talent and I am very thankful for that. Without them, we would never have been able to accomplish as much as we have. I also look forward to the many new team members that have joined this ministry and all the experience they bring with them. I have a feeling there will be plenty of opportunities for all of us to bring some more hope in 2011.
So....speaking of 2011....as we seek the Lords guidance we look forward to all that He will bring to us. We will be planning our normal 3 big days, Rebuilding Together, Celebrate Mount Pleasant and Coram Deo work day, as well as all the other repair requests that come along the way. We are also looking into planning another large impact day where we will seek a family outside the walls of Wellspring and work on repairs, cleaning and beautification of the families property in 1 day. This will be another great opportunity to show the love of Jesus.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas as we celebrate our Saviors birth and may the Fathers love fill you up throughout the next year!
In the Spirit,
Chris Knapp
