Lifegroups Enrichment: Group Development

Periodically a group needs to provide itself collective feedback from it's members to take an honest snapshot at where they are right now, where they have come from, and where they should be going and growing as a group.

Has there been relationship growth? Is trust being developed as demonstrated by your sharing time together deepening? Are people starting to communicate with one another outside the scheduled meeting times more consistently? When personal needs arise, does the group respond outside the normal meeting times to help? Do group members schedule any occasional social gatherings together to help foster relationship growth within the group?

Is there a deepened sense of ownership in your group?
Are group members coming with more expectancy, and deliberate purpose to be contributing to the dynamic of the group's life? Do group members share in bringing food, suggesting topics, recalling prayer needs from previous weeks (having kept them in prayer during the week)? Are open ended questions being contributed and responded to? Is there teamwork expressed in maintaining a healthy flow of discussion that is productive? Are tasks being delegated and owned by group members, or is the group leader still running everything with passive involvement from everyone?

In discussion together are there areas where your group has identified it can improve? Are you setting a deliberate path as a group to achieve those goals?

NOTE: This is the sixth and final blog in this series on Lifegroups. Please consider sharing what is happening in your Lifegroup as a blog that can be posted to encourage others.
