Radical Worship: An invitation from Bill Harris

Worship is defined as paying homage to royalty or God. It is bowing down or falling down before royalty or God to show reverence, honor and ultimate respect. Worship also invites the very presence of God into our lives and into our daily situations. Worship is about relationship. Worship, praise and adoration for God is our way of letting God know we want to get to know Him more intimately.  It is a sign of us being thankful and grateful for having Him in our lives- we appreciate all that he has done, is doing and will do for us. And if He does not do anything, worship is expressing to God that having His presence in our lives and building a intimate relationship of Father and son or Father and daughter is what our heart truly desires. Finally, worship is letting God know that what our heart wants most is Him and that without Him we do not have true life.

As we explored more about worship this last weekend we looked at one of the greatest worshipers if not the greatest besides Jesus, King David. No man understood the very importance of worshiping more than King David. David sought after the presence of God and wanted to get to know Him intimately. David longed for God and through worship he invited God to build His sanctuary in his midst. David was a true example of a worshiper and one we can follow.

Come this Wednesday night as we continue to explore Radical Worship.  I look forward to seeing you there!
