"Summer Nights" at Mt. Pleasant Update 8/4/2010
Last Wednesday night, Wellspring relocated “Summer Nights” to the Mount Pleasant community of New Britain. It was a beautiful, breezy night where you could feel the hope of the Lord brushing across your skin. Approximately 125 people from Wellspring, area churches and Mount Pleasant gathered to experience the presence of the Lord through upbeat worship. Bill Harris and Ray Hill gave inspiring testimonies proclaiming hope and glory to God. It was a blessing to be in the center of Mt. Pleasant permeating the land with praise!
The night was kicked off with some spontaneous children’s games played on the new baseball field that was built during “Celebrate Mount Pleasant”. The children of Mount Pleasant have electric eyes and faces, and their energy and enthusiasm for life is contagious. Folks from Wellspring and other churches took the opportunity to connect with the residents, make crafts with the children, and pray over them. Several children came to the ministry tent to receive prayer for healing or salvation; this is particularly significant in light of Bill Harris’s declaration that the children will lead their parents to the Lord! While it is difficult to gauge the impact of the evening, we believe it was an important step along a path that the Lord is leading us on. For over two years Wellspring has been building bridges and establishing a relationship with Mount Pleasant. We anticipate continued favor and expanded ministry in the future, and believe that Summer Nights @ Mount Pleasant was a significant step in building upon the past and stepping into the future. Thank you to everyone who worked hard to make it happen, and to those who joined in this special night. Please continue to pray that His kingdom will come to Mount Pleasant!
