Women of Wellspring

WOW
WOW is an acronym for Women of Wellspring. Last weekend we were able to present our ministry in the cafe area. What we were not able to say is how grateful we are as a committee to serve the women of our church body. Who are the Women of Wellspring? Well, one day while meditating on the women of the Bible I found my answer. Each of the women in the Wellspring congregation has one or more attributes of these women of the Bible. Which of these Biblical women do you identify with?

  • Eve - mother of mankind,
  • Ruth and Naomi - claimed the law, clung to their destiny
  • Hannah - demonstrates faith and is powerful in prayer
  • Esther - adopted, beautiful, wise, chosen, a queen
  • Lydia - successful business woman, opened up her home
  • Elizabeth - prophetess, older, obedient, cousin of Mary of Nazareth
  • Rahab - risk taker
  • Sarah - wife of Abraham, strong, wise, gave birth at 91
  • Mary of Nazareth - mother of Jesus
  • Martha - a do-er, dear friend of Jesus

These are women who have taught us life lessons by example. Women who share similar gifts, traits, and concerns of our congregation’s women. There are those of us who cling to their destiny, who are beautiful, wise. We have the do-ers, the hospitable, those who love to worship, those who are teachers, business women, mentors, and leaders. The Women of Wellspring ministry is privileged to serve you: young and old, gifted and wise, hurting and those clinging to their faith. Fellowship of the believers enriches each of us.

WOW is as rich as the giftedness offered and shared. Last week you prayed over the knitted and crocheted items made for the Big L and for Sarah's House. You may have been blessed by the Bible studies offered, or enriched by the mentor program initiated this past year. You may have celebrated the Christmas season over a cup of tea. There have been a number of various activities done from time to time, and from season to season. The WOW initiative desires to have something for everyone. We want to see everyone connected in some way or another; connected to each other and connected to the body.

The WOW committee is blessed when you are blessed. Send us your ideas. We are open to suggestions. We know needs change and spiritual growth requires change. The WOW committee is privileged and pleased to serve you; to serve the Women of Wellspring who are similar in faith, need, and nature to the women in the Bible.
