The Youth Pray for Healing

Last Wednesday night our students participated as a corporate body to pray healing on Chris Springman. This was in response to a clear dream by God to Andrew that students would be a key in restoring health to his son's body and spirit. As we facilitated extended worship, the presence of God was very thick in the room. Several leaders had been prompted by God to pray protection and push back the resistance that the enemy was trying to bring. Through encouragement from my wife, Lore, I took the opportunity to do a brief teaching on corporate prayer and healing. After explaining Chris's symptoms, we took a white board and listed what those symptoms were with single words. Then we drew a line down the center and on the other side listed the exact opposite. I explained one side was the mountains that we were going to remove by faith, and the other side were the kingdom aspects that were going to call call forth and declare over Christopher. I did use four specific people to lay hands on Christopher while the rest of us joined in prayer. Rob and Kellie Dunn who have a clear anointing and gifting as a team gathered with Luke and Ben. Prior to prayer, Rob reminded the students of the authority that they do have in Christ. And Bryan Minerly encourage students with a reminder from the book of Jeremiah that despite their youth, the power of God is still available to them. All of these things woven together along with worship proved to be an amazingly powerful time with our students. After about five minutes of prayer, the worship team led us again in song and we worshiped and prayed for another 15 minutes together over Christopher. As our time concluded, Rob closed in prayer and Christopher stood and declared for the first time in a long time to be completely free of pain. After such a awesome declaration we sang once again a song of praise and worship to the God of all the earth. From there we went into life groups and each life group had really positive reactions regarding the time of prayer. It seemed from the youngest to the oldest, each one felt connected to what God was doing over Christopher. There were many that testified they sensed for the first time like they had something to do with someone being healed in their presence. It was powerful and a blessing to be part of.

Christopher did sleep significantly that first night, but since then his headaches have returned. We are going to continue to pray for Christopher. We believe that God has full intention of complete healing for his body and spirit. Please keep in mind especially as you lie down to sleep, remember that this boy would love that opportunity (the opportunity to go to bed and sleep for more than a few minutes and wake up rested).
