Our Purpose

The purpose of Wellspring's "Celebrate Recovery" is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives through the 12 Steps and 8 Recovery Principles. How do we do this? We do this by attending CR and hearing Lessons regarding the Steps & Principles, as well as hearing the testimonies of those who walked them out to gain the victory! This experience allows us to "be changed." By attending the Small Discussion Groups we open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to to accept God's grace in solving our lives' problems.

By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ.

Do you need freedom from... Harmful relationships, addiction to Alcohol and Drugs, including perscription drugs, Codependency issues, Lust issues/Porn addiction, Food addiction, the effects of Physical, Sexual and/or Emotional abuse? If so, come join us as we work through Celebrate Recovery's 12 Steps and 8 Recovery Principles and celebrate a new life of peace, serenity and joy with others who can relate to your experience. Come join us for an amazing spiritual journey. Celebrate Recovery changes lives. Why not start with yours?

The ministry serves both the congregation of Wellspring and the larger community of central Connecticut.

Small Groups

Celebrate Recovery small groups provide a safe place to share one's experiences, strengths, and hopes with others who are going through a Christ-centered recovery. Each group provides you with a group leader who has gone through and experienced victory in a similar area (hurt, habit or hang-up) via the application of the Celebrate Recovery process. The groups also provide you with the opportunity to find an Accountability Partner as well as a Sponsor.

Small Discussion Groups Available

Women's Recovery Groups:

Chemical Addiction Group

If you find that you cannot quit drinking or using illegal drugs entirely, even when you honestly want to, or if you have little control over the amount you consume, you are probably an alcoholic and/or an addict. If you've been taking perscription drugs in larger doses then recommended, or more frequently then recommended, and find yourself anxious and fearfull when it's time to stop you may have developed a physically dependency - an addiction. If that is the case, you may be suffering from a problem that only a spiritual solution will conquer.

Co-dependency Group

A group for those struggling with the compulsion to rescue and take care of others, have difficulty setting boundaries, or recognizing their own worth. Members of this group learn to express their own needs and wants in healthy ways.

Co-Dependency/Open Group

A group for those struggling with the compulsion to rescue and take care of others, have difficulty setting boundaries, or recognizing their own worth or an open group setting for those who don't feel that they fit into another group. Members of this group learn to express their own needs and wants in healthy ways.

Note: As we grow in recovery we also grow in the variety of groups we're able to add to our meeting night. Stay tuned in for the birthing announcements of new groups at Wellspring in the near future.

Step Meeting (The real work in recovery)

Celebrate Recovery uses the 12 Steps and its related Scripture as the biblical model for living your life. A Step Study is a personal journey though each of these steps in a confidential group lead by a facilitator who has completed a study. We do have guidelines for the groups that are strictly adhered to.

We use Celebrate Recovery's four participants books as we progress through them in group. When you finish walking out the steps in the study you will have worked your hurts, habits, and hang-ups through each step. A Step Study is a long-term commitment to the members of the group. It will typically take 7 to 9 months to complete the study. The groups remain open to new members joining them through the first study guide. From Step Book Study Guide 2 on they close off and no additional newcomers are allow. After completing the Step Study, we hope you will join with us as we minister to others dealing with their hurts, habits and hang-ups. Note: Step Study Books are $5.00 ea.

Our Step Study groups generally take place on a different night so as to (a) not diminish the importance the Large Open Share and Small Gender and Specific Issue Groups have as a vital element in every participant's recovery experience and (b) to avoid robbing new participants of opportunities for ministry and outreach.

Contact Dan and Lynn Rouleau at 860-826-7603 or email CelebrateRecovery@wellspring.net if you are interested in joining a study group.

Sponsors & Accountability Partners

We all must take responsibility for our own recovery. One of the most important steps in initiating our recovery is seeking new healthy relationships with others who have gone before us and are walking in victory over their strongholds and can mentor the newcomer on how to do likewise. In Celebrate Recovery we call these mentors "Sponsors" and "Accountability Partners". It has been said that "A Sponsor is like having a personal weight/exercise trainer." and that "An Accountability Partner" is someone you go to the gym with.". Following is a list of the differences....
