Missionaries We Support

Browse below to see the missionaries we support!  Full list coming soon!

Wellspring believes we are to be part of Christ’s Body shining his love and light to the world.  We also believe we are called to be a sending church that raises up leaders and teams to carry the good news to the world.  The Missions Team provides the oversight of all Wellspring’s missions efforts.

The team is responsible for policy, communication, support, and coordination between Wellspring and its missionaries and various missions activities and efforts.  This includes long term missionaries, short term initiatives, and trips.

Currently we are in the redevelopment of the missions efforts as we envision and adjust to the growing environment of partner relationships (i.e. KCC), more missions trips, and embracing our understanding of being a sending church.  We are looking for people who have a passion for missions and vision of operating in a changing paradigm.

Slogan: Infiltrating Uzbekistan’s influential class with the Kingdom of Heaven.
             Infusing; permeating; saturating.

Vision: Our vision is to be an influence to the influential governing authorities in the Nation of Uzbekistan, a nation that is opposed to the gospel.  It is to see the nation of Uzbekistan transformed, the people and the land, as the Kingdom of the Almighty God changes them and brings life to the death that has enslaved her. We want to see the people changed as those in positions of power and influence turn to the Lord, are saved and by example walk in the righteousness, justice, integrity and the love of our Lord. We see them walking in obedience to Jesus Christ and as they do so changing the way that the government, the nation, and their personal lives are run. As these leaders are changed there will be an infusion of the Kingdom of Heaven into the society beginning from the top and spreading throughout all areas of the people and culture.  We see the church rising up into its identity as the body of Christ, embracing the leadership as they turn to the Lord. We see a distribution of the wealth from the upper classes to the body where there is need and an independence from financial support from the “west” for the Church in Central Asia. And as the people of this nation, beloved of God begin to Praise their righteous Lord and King we will see the physical land change. We will see the desert places made into fertile land and the people will rejoice when the Lord waters the earth and renews it. The nation will become an oasis and a testament to the Lord’s greatness and a light to the surrounding nations.

“Let the peoples praise Thee, O God; let all the peoples praise Thee. The earth has yielded its produce; God, our God, blesses us, that all the ends of the earth may fear Him.”(Psalm 67:5-7)
Mission Statement:  Our mission is to fulfill the great commission in Uzbekistan. We will minister to the leadership of the nation through example in personal and business relationships, disciplining as we interact with them and extend the Kingdom of God to their lives both personally and nationally.  We are committed long term to working with the government and sharing the love our Lord and His gospel and to intercession for the nation.

Goals:
  • Over the course of 6-12 months upon return to Uzbekistan our goal is to prayer walk and worship to build foundation for the work the Lord is bringing us into.
  • (Within the next 5 years) Shuxrat to get a masters degree, with full scholarship, in order to create a platform for him to obtain a good position in the government in Uzbekistan
  • (Within the next 5-10 years) establish businesses that would sustain us financially.
  • (Within the next 10 years) Shuxrat to obtain significant position in government or business that will enable him to move up the ranks
  • To enter fully into my calling as an intercessor! (Rachel)
  • To be an active witness of a Christian family through full immersion into the society.
  • (Ongoing) to create an environment in our home that will be welcoming and safe for the wives of the men that Shuxrat will be working with in government and business. We need to have a place that is always open and available and a room for ministering to those women.
  • To establish relationships with young women and the above and minister to them…to speak the truth about who they are and their value to the Creator and to disciple them in walking with the Lord.

Needs:
  • Deeper, clearer, regular back and forth relationship with the church
  • Prayer Support: (Intercessors committed to interceding and meeting with other intercessors to pray for us on a regular and ongoing basis)
  • Strong spiritual support, accountability and authority
  • Financial support
  • An apartment or house as we are committed to living in Uzbekistan long term and desire to own an apartment as soon as possible in order to wisely invest in our future there.

About Uzbekistan:
Uzbekistan is located in Central Asia, bordering Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. It is smaller than the state of Texas and has a population of 29 million people. There are many ethnicities living in Uzbekistan, but primarily it is Uzbeks and Tajiks. Uzbeks and Tajiks are Muslim and have rich culture and deeply rooted traditions. Christianity has been traditionally looked upon negatively. Mainly because all they have known about Christianity is from movies (Roman Catholics) and the Russians (Orthodox). People have misconceptions about Christianity. Uzbeks think that Christians worship idols (icons, cross, statues of saints) and believe in three gods.
They have special ways of celebrating every holiday and significant event from the birth of a child to circumcision, weddings, anniversaries and death. Women carry the traditions from generation to generation. Young girls learn to care for the home, prepare all traditional meals both for day to day and holidays, care for children and their future husbands.
This is a culture that puts a great deal of weight on honor and respect which is evident in the language itself as there are different titles of respect for every category of relative/friend/acquaintance/and leader.
Men/women of greatest title/honor have the most influence in the society. The rest of the society respect, admire and look up to these influential people. One of these influential people coming to the Kingdom of God would cause many people to follow the same path and also change people’s perspective of Christianity.
