Wellspring of Hope Mentoring Program

I just wanted to report back to the congregation regarding the tutoring and mentoring program. We continue to be blessed by our church family. The need for 20 new mentors is close to being met. This past Sunday 13 of you signed up to become part of the team that reaches out to the children of New Britain. Thank you for your support!

I believe that there will be 6 more people to add.

Mount Pleasant After School Program

Has God given you a heart for children? Come join us in sowing hope into these little ones. Mondays and Wednesdays 3:30-6 p.m. the Mount Pleasant after school program will help equip first graders with skills to succeed in school while encouraging and instructing them in the Word of God.

As I reflect on our previous school year, It is time again to think about the preparation of a new year. Just a few weeks ago we were all preparing for the pending fury of hurricane Irene. Days were spent in thoughtful preparation based on information that was delivered through the media and our own knowledge of previous storms. We all remained hopeful for a positive outcome.

A new year has arrived once again and we all can agree how time just seems to fly by. I often ponder this all so true occurrence and wonder why it is so. Many including myself will say, “ the older you get the faster it goes.” I do know the busier we get the faster it goes also, as many much younger than myself seem to have the same sentiment.

As we are winding down the days of summer and the new school year is here we are excited to start our 3rd year at Lincoln School in New Britain. This ministry of outreach into the city of New Britain continues to grow. The needs are always there but the Lord's love for the children shines through the many team members who usher in hope.

"Summer Nights" at Mt. Pleasant Update 8/4/2010

Last Wednesday night, Wellspring relocated “Summer Nights” to the Mount Pleasant community of New Britain. It was a beautiful, breezy night where you could feel the hope of the Lord brushing across your skin. Approximately 125 people from Wellspring, area churches and Mount Pleasant gathered to experience the presence of the Lord through upbeat worship.
