The Destiny Africa Children's Choir Returns to America!

The Destiny Africa Children’s Choir will be returning to the U.S. this fall for their second American tour.   The purpose is to bless America while raising support for the Kampala Children’s Centre, which currently provides a loving home, education, health care, spiritual nurturing, and recreational activities to 100 Ugandan orphans. Everyone is invited to enjoy a concert by the choir at Wellspring on Sunday, September 26 at 6:00 p.m.   There is no charge for the event, but a love offering will be taken with all proceeds going to the Kampala Children’s Centre. Invite your friends and family to experience an unforgettable night of worship and blessing!
Last year, the Destiny Africa Children’s Choir danced and sang their way into our hearts with boundless energy and charisma.   We Americans were not at all prepared for what we experienced! Their electric smiles, powerful music, and life-giving spirits simply blew us away. Viewers fell in love with the children and wanted more! What is it about this group of children that draws people in? The children of Destiny Africa carry in them something of God’s Kingdom; and when God’s Kingdom comes, people are moved. One concert goer explained, “Just being near these kids is like a continuous worship experience; I felt like I was in the presence of God.”    In a letter sent to the choir during last year’s tour, an 11-year old American school girl wrote, “As you were performing, I got a feeling in my heart that I have never gotten before…”   Students who observed the choir empathized with their pain and loss while marveling in their talent and triumph. They are now dreaming bigger dreams and thinking harder about how they, too, can make a difference in the world.
Americans are not strangers to the plight of Africa. We hear stories and see images of war, disease and poverty all the time. It’s easy to become jaded toward their overwhelming need, particularly at a time when our own nation is in economic crisis and many Americans are struggling and in despair. But when living, breathing, innocent children who have been hammered by the cruelest storms of life are in our very presence, and they are singing songs of joy, something changes. Their dreams become real and personal, and suddenly worth fighting for; their stories touch our hearts with the kind of tangible hope that we long for; their joy becomes our joy...  Come and be blessed. Experience a taste of God’s kingdom that is profound and unique!
